Chester County Reading Olympics
Chester County Reading Olympics is a celebration of reading for elementary, middle, and high school students, who, after a year of reading, participate in a competition held in late-Spring. Students collaborate with their teammates to read 40-50 books selected by a committee of librarians, reading specialists, and teachers. Because the goal of Reading Olympics is to increase students' reading for enjoyment and develop reading skills, all participants are awarded ribbons. Chester County Reading Olympics is a program of the Chester County Intermediate Unit; teams are formed at participating schools. The Chester County Library, while not directly involved in Reading Olympics, makes the books from each year's lists available for participants.
