Book a one-on-one appointment with a staff person or volunteeer at the Chester County Library or the Henrietta Hankin Branch. We provide one-on-one help on a variety of topics. Appointments are currently being conducted in person or virtually over Zoom. Please see the list of offerings below to determine which service is for you.

One on One Tech Help

Need help with technology? Want to learn a skill? Schedule an appointment with one of our tech volunteers in our Reference Department or staff members in our Jacobs Technology Center (JTC).

Our Reference tech volunteers help with…
• Using your iPhone or Android phone
• Filling out a job application or online form
• Computer basics
• Using your tablet
• Other technology issues

Appointments are limited to one hour.

These appointments are held in the Chester County Library Reference Department located on the first floor of the library. If you have questions, please call the Reference Desk at 610-344-5957.

Our JTC staff members help with…
• Computer/Device basics*
• Basic Microsoft Word
• Basic Microsoft Excel
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel

*Tablet, Kindle, Phone, Android only. No Apple products.

Appointments are limited to 1.5 hours.

These sessions are held at the John W. Jacobs Technology Center (JTC) located on the second floor of the library. If you have questions, please call the JTC Desk at 610-344-4395.

Please note: Appointments do not include typing up documents or resumes. These appointments take place in the Exton location.

Chester County Library Reference Librarian Assistance

Rebecca Manuel is the Information Literacy Librarian in the Reference Department at the Chester County Library. Please book an appointment with her for assistance with any of the following topics:

  • Introducing the library and its resources
  • Using library resources to find your next read
  • Learning how to use the library catalog
  • Using library databases
  • Using library genealogy resources
  • Accessing digital newspapers and magazines
  • Finding language learning resources
  • Finding health resources

Candid community One-on-One Training

Learn how to use Candid’s Foundation Center Essential and Professional databases via one on one training with one of our Candid community Co-supervisors, Tom Berman and Kelly Quigg. These databases provide grantmaking data for non-profits who are looking for funding. Learn how to search over 110,00 grantmaker profiles, 5 million awarded-grant records, 4,000 company profiles and more.

Henrietta Hankin Branch Reference Librarian Assistance

Make an appointment with a Reference Librarian to learn more about using library resources to make your life easier! We can help you learn how to use the library catalog, databases, and how to access eBooks, eAudiobooks, and digital magazines. We also offer one-on-one sessions on such topics as Computer Basics for Older Adults, Email Basics, eBooks 101, Skype 101, WordPress/blogging, or we can customize a session for you. If you would like to schedule a one hour, one-on-one session, please schedule through our event calendar, stop by the Henrietta Hankin Branch Reference Desk, call 610-344-4196, or email us at [email protected]. Sessions are currently being offered both in person and over Zoom, depending on patron preference.

One-on-One OverDrive/Libby Training

Want to learn how to borrow free library eBooks and eAudiobooks?  Then sign-up for a one-on-one training session! Each session is half an hour and will show you how to borrow an eBook or eAudiobook on your iPad, tablet, smartphone, or other compatible device.
