Find Your Joy at a Library in Chester County During National Library Week, April 19–25, 2026

Apr 15, 2026

[EXTON, PA] — What brings you joy? Whether it’s discovering a new story, learning a skill, or connecting with the community, you can find your joy at a library in Chester County!

National Library Week, April 19–25, 2026, celebrates the many ways libraries spark imagination, support lifelong learning, and strengthen communities. Across Chester County’s 16-member libraries and 2 branches, residents are invited to explore everything their libraries offer—from free Wi‑Fi and digital collections to career workshops, makerspaces, STEAM programs, early literacy initiatives, and community events.

Award‑winning librarian, author, and Reading Rainbow host Mychal Threets serves as this year’s Honorary Chair. “Find Your Joy is an invitation for everyone to discover what inspires them at the library,” says Threets. “Celebrating libraries, thanking library workers, visiting libraries is how I find my joy… When people enter the world of libraries and stories, I am confident they will find not only their library joy but their courage to believe in their own story.”

Chester County Library System Board President William F. Connor adds, “We are proud to serve the residents of Chester County and grateful for the support that allows our libraries to thrive. Through access, learning, and connection, we open doors to possibilities for everyone. Our dedicated staff and volunteers make this work possible.”

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance of the American Library Association (ALA). The Chester County Library System remains committed to ensuring every resident has opportunities to read, learn, create, connect, and contribute to a better quality of life.

The mission of the Chester County Library System is to ensure that every resident has access to exceptional opportunities to read, learn, create, connect, and contribute to a better quality of life.
