January 5, 2026 – December 31, 2026

Welcome to the second year of the Chester County Library’s yearlong reading challenge!  The 2026 Reading Challenge is open to all readers reading at a Young Adult or Adult level in any format.

Please register for the challenge using this online form or by speaking to the Reference Desk.

The February challenge is to read a book written by a Black author or a book set in a major city. Please check out some suggestions here: Black-authored books or books set in a major city.

How to Participate

  1. Get your tracking log! Pick up a physical tracking log at the Reference Desk, or print one out at home using the link in the Resources section of this page.
  2. Start tracking your reading! There are 12 prompts – one for each month of the year. There is no requirement to complete each prompt during its corresponding month, but it is encouraged.
  3. Enter to win prizes! Return your completed tracking log to the Reference Desk by January 31, 2027 to be eligible for prizes. Please do not return your log before December 1, 2026.  Prizes to be determined.  If you are unable to physically come into the library to turn in your log or pick up your prize(s), please reach out to Rebecca Manuel at [email protected], Susan Lopez at [email protected], or your library’s Reference Desk (contact information found on our website here).  Prize winners will be drawn on Monday, February 1, 2027 and notified by email or phone call.
