The Chester County Library and Henrietta Hankin Branch Library are no longer accepting applications for the summer 2019 Teen Volunteer Program.  Thank you for your interest.  We look forward to hearing from you next year.

About the Summer Young Adult Volunteer Program

The Summer Teen Volunteer program is open to students who are at least 14 years old and going into 9th grade.  To be placed in the future, requirements are as follows. You must be available throughout the summer months and absent for no more than two weeks. Each student placed is assigned one three-hour shift, one day per week.  We are sorry, but there are no evening or weekend volunteering opportunities for students applying to the summer program. All applications for Chester County and Henrietta Hankin Branch Libraries should be sent directly to Susan Walraed, Coordinator of Volunteer Services at the Chester County Library. We look forward to receiving your application for the 2020 session.

When you apply to the Young Adult Summer Program, it will provide an opportunity for you to share your talents and skills in a positive way. You can work behind the scenes processing library materials or shelve books; use your organizational skills to help with clerical duties or special projects; demonstrate your creative skills in our Public Relations/Graphics department.  Library volunteering is a great way to fulfill graduation requirements, boost your college resume, and serve your community.

Please note: young adult volunteers are recruited and placed only for the summer program at Chester County Library and Henrietta Hankin Branch. Since we receive a high number of applications for the summer program during the March kickoff period, we respond to applicants when the interview process begins in April and in the order applications are received.
