CCLS Celebrates America’s 250th!

Jun 29, 2026

The 18 libraries of the Chester County Library System are celebrating America’s Semiquincentennial with a full lineup of CC250 programs for all ages. Across the county, children, teens, families, and adults are discovering new ways to explore 250 years of American history—and imagine the next 250!

This summer, we are also hosting ‘Dare to Declare’ community readings of the Declaration of Independence at all our libraries, bringing history to life in a powerful, shared moment.

From book clubs and hands‑on workshops to scholar‑led sessions on historic documents and meetings with historical reenactors, every CCLS location offers something unique. Whether you’re looking to learn, create, or celebrate together, there’s a CC250 event waiting for you.

Use the QR code in the graphic above to explore CC250 programs happening at all 18 libraries and join us in celebrating America’s 250th birthday!

Apart from our special CC250 programs, you can also pick up the America 250 booklet, explore themed reading lists, and visit all 18 libraries to see the “Bells Across Chesco” on display from May 1–August 31. Collect a stamp at every stop. Please note: Chester Springs Library will reopen soon, but their bell is currently on display at Henrietta Hankin Branch Library until their building reopens.

Join us for Dare to Declare, a live reading of the Declaration of Independence, and complete an America 250 activity to earn a commemorative Chester County America 250 sticker.
