My love of libraries started out early, as a kid going to the neighborhood library and County Park, just outside the Atlanta area. We could go get our books for pleasure reading or assignments, and in good weather, enjoy them at the park! In my later college years, I worked in the school’s music library to make extra money, and upon graduation with a teaching degree, I settled into a children’s library assistant position and fell in love with children’s literature all over again! Thanks to the encouragement and support of co-workers and family, I pursued a Master’s degree in Library Science in Atlanta while working part-time at the same library. Soon I was back working full time as a children’s librarian, helping children of all ages find just the right books they wanted to read.
A family job-transfer north to the Chester County area years ago prompted a job search here, and I was thrilled to find a warm welcome here at the Exton Library. Over the years, I’ve been happy to work among wonderful people in the Youth Services department, helping families and children, and preparing programs for babies, toddlers, preschoolers all the way up to teens and tweens during my time here. It is a pleasure to work in an environment that encourages the lifelong love and pursuit of learning!
