In-Person: Maker-in-Residence Workshop

Saturday, April 22, 2023 -
10:00am to 11:30am
Location:
Chester County Library in Exton - Struble Room

Join our Maker in Residence, Megan Raab Greenholt, as she guides you through a natural dye experience using indigo and shape resist pattern techniques on cloth.

The ninety-minute workshop will celebrate Chester County Libraries’ Juneteenth theme, “Journeying Towards Freedom” by learning about the history of indigo in our country and its use in the creative practices of contemporary African American artists. Each participant will create two indigo dyed and patterned fabric pieces, a bandana to take home and a strip of fabric that will be incorporated into a textile banner sewn by Megan and displayed in the Exton Library and area branches.

Please contact the John W Jacobs Technology Center at 610-344-4395 for more information.

PLEASE NOTE:

We will have a safety guidelines review at the beginning of the workshop that is required for participation.

Wear "maker" clothing and shoews you don't mind getting dye on.

Registration is required.  For ages 16 and up. Please register for this program: Saturday, April 22, 10 - 11:30 am
