Spring Book Sales Are Here!

With longer days and warmer weather, spring is here, and that means the Spring Book Sales are just around the corner.The Friends of the Henrietta Hankin Branch Library will hold their Spring Book Sale on April 4-7. Members of the Friends will be able to shop exclusively on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. The public can shop on Friday from 12-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. On Saturday, teachers with a valid teacher ID may purchase a bag of books for $8. Everyone can purchase a bag of books on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. for $10. Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted.
Over the past two years and two months, the Friends of the Henrietta Hankin Branch Library have contributed over $55,000 to the library. The funds have been used for new audio/video equipment for both the Annex and Community Room, early Literacy Stations for the Youth Services Department, support for special programs (including summer programming for all departments), furnishings for the Youth Service Department, funds for the popular Museum Pass program, and more.
The Friends of the Chester County Library will hold their Spring Book Sale on April 12th-14th. They too have a Member’s Only book sale which will take place on Friday night from 6-8:30 pm. The public is invited to shop from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday. Sunday hours are from 1-4 p.m. Sunday is Bag Sale Day when a bag of books is $10 ($7 with a valid Friends’ membership card). The Friends of the Chester County Library contributed over $72,000 to the library last year. These funds supported upgraded adult shelving, professional development for staff, Early Literacy Stations for the Youth Services Department, new furnishings in the Jacobs Technology Center, audio/visual equipment, and support for the Museum Pass program. Additionally four Rokus with Netflix and Acorn TV, STEAM and robotics sets, Digital Media Lab equipment, and promotional materials were purchased. A 24/7 Outdoor Holds Locker is planned for the near future.
Both Friends groups are invaluable assets to the libraries. When you purchase materials at these sales, you support the libraries. Thank you!
