Friends Groups Announce Spring Sales!

Join both the Friends of the Chester County Library and the Friends of the Henrietta Branch Library for their Spring Book Sales!  Books in a variety of subjects from the sciences to the humanities, fiction, biographies, history, and cook books, as well as music and movie CDs and DVDs will be available for purchase at bargain prices. A huge selection of children’s books also be available.

The Friends of the Chester County Library will hold their Spring Book Sale on April 7,8 and 9, 2017.

The sale starts on Friday, April 7 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. for members of the Friends of the Chester County Library. All Friday night attendees must have a current membership before they get into line outside the Struble Room. Place saving using boxes, crates, etc. is not allowed. Memberships start at $15 for an individual and $20 per household and can be purchased in advance by mailing in the membership form (from the mailer or the website) or by purchasing a membership at the Library’s Main Checkout Desk prior to 4:30 p.m. on Friday night. Memberships can be purchased on Friday night beginning at 5 p.m. at the membership table.

The sale is open to the public starting on Saturday, April 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 9 is Bag Sale Day, which takes place from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. We supply the bag; you fill it and pay $10. Show your 2017 Friends membership card and pay only $7 per bag. For less than a whole bag, the books will be sold at half-price.

Only cash or checks can be accepted. For safety, no strollers will be permitted in any of the Book Sale areas and children younger than 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

All proceeds from the Book Sale benefit the Chester County Library.

The Friends of the Henrietta Hankin Branch Library will hold their Spring Book Sale on April 21, 22, and 23, 2017.  

Friday, April 21st will be the “Friends Only” preview night.  On this special night, Friends of the Henrietta Hankin Library will get first look at the books, CD’s and DVD’s for sale, simply by presenting their membership card.  The Book Sale will open to the public at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 22. A special “Bag Sale” will be held on Sunday, April 23rd.

All proceeds from the event will be used for supplemental programming and materials for the Henrietta Hankin Library.  In the past year, the Friends have purchased new computer monitors, sponsored adult and youth summer reading programs, the story-time room Mural Design Contest and the 10th Anniversary Book Mark contest, and provided scholarships for staff workshops.
