Partnership with United Way of Chester County

Financial Stability Center
One of the goals of our County Strategic Business Plan is to increase our outreach efforts in order to form partnerships with outside organizations in the area. We are proud to announce that the Chester County Library has partnered with the United Way of Chester County Financial Stability Center, located in the Oaklands Corporate Center, 479 Thomas Jones Way, Suite 500, in Exton.
The Financial Stability Center offers unemployed and underemployed individuals access to a blend of financial management, career and other supportive services to help them increase income and savings, decrease debt, and build assets, in an easy, accessible one-stop location. Center staff provides an assessment and develops a plan for reaching individualized goals. Counseling and navigation services are provided to ensure that people stay on track, along with an array of other skill building programs and services. Services are offered in a consumer-friendly and professional environment.
As a member of the Financial Stability Partnership, staff and volunteers from the Jacobs Technology Center of the Chester County Library offer one on one computer tutoring services as a means to prepare individuals for basic computer classes and build their self-confidence. In addition to these sessions, our Business Outreach Librarian, Melissa Kohl, works with PA CareerLink,® located in the same facility, to hold classes in developing online job seeking skills.
