Kids

The Summer Reading Program is back with in-person programming this summer! Oceans of Possibilities is the theme for 2022 Summer Quest & Patch Power programs. Sign-up begins June 6 and in-person programming will begin on June 21st. Children can read or listen to a story every day during the summer to become an award winning reader. Summer readers from babies to 5th grade can start logging their reading on June 6.  Mark the days that you read (or listen to) books for 30 minutes or more.  Turn in your calendar before September 3 and pick up your rewards!  Back by popular request:  Explore and learn more with our self-directed Patch Power!  Four new patches were added for 2022 and patches from previous years are still available.  Families can also join us at the library for family story times and infant, PreK, school age and teen programs. Look for all our events on the Chester County Library Events Calendar at https://chescolibraries.org/events

Teens

Teens (grades 6 and up) can stop into the teen zone at Chester County Library beginning June 21 for a drop-in Maker activity. Register on the events calendar for special events just for teens every Friday afternoon. Or drop-in on Tuesday nights for a craft. There are just for teen events all summer! At Henrietta Hankin Branch Library, Teens can pick up their bingo cards beginning June 1. Weekly in-person programs start on June 23rd and run through August 2nd. You can find the full 2022 program here.

Adults

The Adult Summer Reading Program, Oceans of Possibilities, is designed for adults age 18 & up to encourage life-long reading habits. Registration is required and will begin June 6th.

Read and/or complete as many activities as you are able using the Bingo card provided. Enter the name of the book, magazine, music CD, or activity (program, museum, park, trail, etc.) on the corresponding numbered line. Please use book titles only once. Unless otherwise specified, every “Reading” square can be completed with any format you prefer — read a print book, an eBook, or listen to an audiobook! Books should be at the adult or young adult reading level. For each square you mark off, your odds of winning a general prize will increase. Get BINGO (5 squares in a row, column, or diagonal) and you will be entered in the Grand Prize drawing. Each participant may earn only one Grand Prize entry.

Can't come to the library right away to pick up the handouts? You can print out the Bingo card and the Book Review Form at home! You can also fill out the Book Review Form online if you like.

Need ideas for books to read or listen to? Ask a librarian for a Personalized Reading Suggestion or check out NoveList Plus, our online Reader’s Advisory resource. Return your Bingo Card to the Chester County Library or Henrietta Hankin Branch between August 15th and August 29th. Library staff will stamp and count squares completed. Prize winners will be drawn on Monday, August 30th and will be notified by email or phone call.

Registration is required and will begin June 6th. Click here to register.

The Adult Reading Programs are made possible by generous donations from the Friends of the Chester County Library and the Friends of the Henrietta Hankin Branch Library.
