Join the Great Backyard Bird Count

Join us virtually on Wednesday, January 20th, from 6 - 7 pm, for A Kids' Introduction to the Backyard Bird Count — a free, fun, and easy event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds. Sponsored by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society, this event, which takes place February 12-15, 2021, could inspire a lifetime hobby. Children, age 3 to 8, and their parents are invited to enjoy stories and more! Chester County will be collecting photographs of all the birds spotted during the three-day event in February and compiling them in a slideshow that will be featured on the website and social media. This program is part of the Longwood Gardens 8th Annual Community Read Program designed to encourage reading and start a conversation. In 2021 discover how one finds a passion for nature and explore what can become of that spark. Participants will be eligible for a free drawing for a one day family pass for 4 to Longwood Gardens.
Please register for this program here. Registration will close 2 hours prior to the scheduled start time of the event. A Zoom link will be emailed to registrants 2 hours before the program begins.
