Housing Fair at Chester County Library

Over the past several months, the Chester County Library in Exton, PA has noticed a significant uptick in social services inquiries. We were also approached by The Housing Partnership of Chester County to present a workshop on how credit can affect your ability to rent and purchase housing, among other things. These frequent conversations have inspired us to find a better way to bring our patrons in contact with the many local organizations who could guide them to stability. Since shelter/housing is one of the most pressing issues we have encountered here at CCL, we will be hosting a Housing Fair on Saturday, April 23 from 10:00-1:00 pm. We currently have 14 service organizations that will be present to disburse information, answer questions, and become familiar faces to our patrons experiencing a housing need. Those organizations are:

  •  Ann’s Heart
  • Bridge of Hope
  • Child Guidance Resource Center
  • CHOP Homeless Health Initiative
  • Domestic Violence Center of Chester County
  • Friends Association for Care & Protection of Children
  • Good Samaritan Services
  • Health Partners Plans
  • Home of the Sparrow
  • Housing Partnership of Chester County
  • Human Services, Inc.
  • PECO Outreach
  • Phoenixville Women’s Outreach
  • United Way of Chester County/211

The fair will be held during open business hours throughout the main level of the library, encouraging as much interaction as possible. The main goal of this fair is for individuals impacted by housing insecurity to find resources and to feel encouraged that their situation can and will improve and to provide more information on how credit is reported, your FICO score and how to improve your overall credit situation.
