2018 Summer Reading

Summer Reading for Adults, Kids and Teens!

Adult Summer Reading
The Chester County Library and Henrietta Hankin Branch Library are excited to kick off our Adult Summer Reading program on Monday, June 4th. This year’s theme is “Libraries Rock!” Our program handout will include a Bingo card full of reading, watching, listening, and experience challenges to complete over the summer. For each Bingo square activity that you complete you will earn a raffle ticket to enter drawings for great prizes. Get BINGO on your card (5 squares in a row) and you will earn a raffle ticket toward our grand prize.

We also have some exciting programs planned as part of our Adult Summer Reading program. Please visit our online event calendar and select “Adult Programs” to see what we have in store! The Adult Summer Reading program is open to anyone aged 18 and over that would like to participate. Stop by the Reference Desk of either library between June 4th and August 13th or visit here to register.

2018 Summer Quest at the Chester County Library
The Chester County Library Youth Services Department is ready to rock this summer, as the Libraries Rock!: 2018 Summer Quest kicks off! Children, from preschoolers through teens can register for the Libraries Rock!: 2018 Summer Quest beginning on June 4th.

On June 4th and anytime thereafter, children and teens can register to read and participate in a variety of activities. At registration, participants will receive a folder with all the materials they need to achieve this summer. Libraries Rock! game boards will allow children to track their reading and complete activities and challenges for learning, enrichment, and fun! Participants have until August 12th to read and complete activities toward prizes and awards, depending on how many games squares they’ve completed at that time.

Beginning the week of June 18th, we’ll launch our schedule of programs for preschool, elementary, and teen participants. Just some of the programs will include:
• Messy Monday – Do-It-Yourself Arts & Crafts (preschool & elementary)
• Maker Monday – Rock a New Skill Every Week (elementary)
• Tell-Tale Tuesday (preschool)
• Wacky Wednesday – Cool Movies for Hot Afternoons
• Thrilling Thursday (elementary)
• Teen Library Crew

Summer Quest will guarantee a fun summer for children of all ages, while helping them fight the Summer Slide. Join today and have rocking summer at the Library!
