Ghosts of the Tsunami by Richard Lloyd Parry

A British journalist went to the epicenter of the 2011 tsunami in Japan, to interview those who lived and witnessed the incredible devastation and loss. He recounts the details of what people who survived the wave went through during and after. Being aware and prepared saved many lives, while sheer luck spared others. The sad story of a school in the path of the wave is investigated in depth, and how inaction by the school officials contributed to the death of most of the children there that day. All in all, a memorable exposé on the power of nature and the ways people cope with loss. ~Meredith, CCL
