With Art historian Fred Dixon

Discuss the twenty greatest paintings of the twentieth century and why each is important. The 20th century was a very interesting period in art world because new, radically different art movements such as Fauvism, Cubism, Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art arrived to challenge the existing ones with unprecedented frequency. The center of the art world shifted from Paris to New York. People's expectations of what a painting should look like became more flexible. These transitions made it possible for many of the ground breaking artists of the 20th century to thrive when they could not have in earlier eras.

Fred Dixon's book "700 years of Art History: Pre-Renaissance to Modernism" will be available for purchase and Fred will be delighted to autograph your copy.
