The Sense of Place: Suspense and Thrills in Chester County

Saturday, July 22, 2017 -
2:30pm to 3:30pm
Location:
Henrietta Hankin Branch

Chester County author Matty Dalrymple takes you behind the scenes of her locally-based suspense and thriller novels, "The Sense of Death," "The Sense of Reckoning," and "Rock Paper Scissors." Setting can be as much a character as the humans who inhabit it, and Matty will discuss the research she did and the choices she made in matching setting to the needs of the plot. Chester County residents will recognize many of the settings of scenes from the novels, and can guess at those whose “names have been changed to protect the innocent.”

Matty Dalrymple is the author of the Ann Kinnear Suspense Novels, THE SENSE OF DEATH and THE SENSE OF RECKONING, and the Lizzy Ballard Thriller, ROCK PAPER SCISSORS. She lives with her husband, Wade Walton, and their dogs in Chester County, Pennsylvania, which is the setting for much of the action in THE SENSE OF DEATH and ROCK PAPER SCISSORS. In the summer, they enjoy vacationing on Mt. Desert Island, Maine, where THE SENSE OF RECKONING takes place. Matty also blogs, podcasts, and speaks about independent publishing as The Indy Author™.

Matty is a member of International Thriller Writers, Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and the Brandywine Valley Writers Group.

You can connect with Matty on Facebook, Twitter, and Goodreads, and you can learn more at mattydalrymple.com.
