Fall Grant-Seeking Programs at the Chester County Library

Hands-On Grantseeking Workshops

“Introduction to Finding Funders with the Foundation Directory Online”
Wednesday, September 28th, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Wednesday, October 26th, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Chester County Library, Struble Room

Grantseekers and members of the 501c3 community have two upcoming opportunities to attend a hands-on training with the Foundation Directory Online Professional. In this workshop, grantseekers will learn how to research and connect with potential funders through the Foundation Directory Online Professional (FDOP) database, available exclusively at the Chester County Library in Exton. This course is designed for members of the 501c3 community who are new to seeking grants from foundations or have little to no experience using FDOP. An overview of the database will be provided, and time will be available for participants to search grants and foundation profiles in a guided environment. Time permitting, we will also demo PA Foundations Online. This workshop is free and open to the public. Registration is required. Please visit our online event calendar, or call 610-280-2620.

Meet the Grantmakers Panel Discussion
November 11th, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Chester County Library, Struble Room

Are you a member of a nonprofit organization in the Chester County area? Involved in grantseeking and fundraising for your organization and looking to increase your knowledge and success? Scheduled panelists include Andrea Bretting of the Claneil Foundation, Joe Pyle of the Thomas Scattergood Behavioral Health Foundation, and Kate Houstoun of the Barra Foundation.

Area grantmakers will discuss a variety of topics such as how their foundations operate, funder perspectives on the grantmaking process, expectations for grantseekers, and what distinguishes a successful grant application. Following the panel discussion, attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the grantmakers and to briefly learn about free grantseeking resources at the Chester County Library.

There is no charge to attend, but advance registration will be required. Keep an eye on the “All Programs” calendar and our home page for details. We hope to see you at the library for this exciting event!

The Chester County Library is pleased to offer our Meet the Grantmaker event as part of our work as a location of the Funding Information Network (FIN) of the Foundation Center of New York.  More information about the Chester County Library’s FIN resources is available here.
