Book Donations

Chester County Library and District Center

The Chester County Library accepts books and audio visual items that are in good condition. The Library does not accept textbooks, outdated encyclopedias, Reader's Digest Condensed Books, or magazines.

Gifts of materials are sometimes added to the Library's collection in accordance with its Materials Selection Policy. However, most of them are sold by the Friends of the Chester County Library during their semi-annual book sales. The proceeds from these sales help support the library.

If you would like a letter for tax purposes, you can leave the materials in the back lobby during open hours and complete a Donation Card. A letter acknowledging your donation will be sent to you shortly afterward. However, the library cannot place a value on the materials donated.
